Kwang Tat Ang of our partner ANTlabs has a light-hearted way of framing a serious decision. He may not be an IT wizard, he says, but here is what to ask before choosing a hotel casting solution, so that it works at peak occupancy, stays room-isolated and does not become a support-ticket machine. "Defense Against the Dark Arts" rules apply: demos look magical, but reality is full occupancy and changing apps.

ANTlabs' article on secure hotel casting sets out the fundamentals. In a home, casting is simple. Hotels are the opposite: constant turnover, high device churn and many rooms side by side. A guest should only see and connect to the TV in their own room, sessions must not linger after checkout, no accounts, tokens or remembered devices should be left behind, and the system has to behave predictably at peak occupancy, not just on a quiet afternoon.

When evaluating a solution, ANTlabs suggests asking how room-to-room isolation is enforced, how sessions are cleared, how it behaves under load, how quickly issues are detected, and who owns ongoing compatibility and support. ANTlabsEzCast is built for hotels around those requirements.
